My Story

Writer. Digital Marketer. Public Speaker. Educator. Mother. Triathlete.

If you’re anything like me, lot of people will pressure you into knowing exactly what you want to do for the rest of your life. I am living proof that WHAT you do is always open to change!

To me, knowing WHO you are as a person is way more important than knowing exactly what you want to do for the next 50 years of life. It’s my hope that I can help you dive deeper into your WHO and stop feeling pressure from the WHAT that knocks down your door. After all, who you are determines what you say “yes and no” to throughout your life!

I’ll share the highlights of what I do here, and by following along my blog – you’ll feed into my purpose and why in life – to heal hearts and empower people to climb all the mountains they face in life with confidence, courage, and joy.

I want to be relatable, motivating, and energizing in everything that I do.

Writer

I am a born storyteller and writer – I believe my ability to tell stories is my gift in life! In fact, I was 10-years-old when I wrote my first company newsletter for my dad’s company. When I was in middle school, I wrote a horror story novel on my dad’s computer in Microsoft Word. I hit around 100 pages of the book, and my dad told me he found my writing. He said I was a wonderful writer. Despite the compliment, I was terribly embarrassed. I deleted the entire document; fear makes us do crazy things.

I am currently writing my first book, which is set to publish in 2021. I also have (2) children’s books that will support the stories in my memoir. Stay tuned – I won’t delete these stories and books – I promise!

Digital Marketer

family

I have spent the last decade working on brand development, digital marketing programs, and creative storytelling. What does that mean? Well, I geek out over email marketing. And I love coming up with creative content and campaigns.

I love taking creative risks, but processes and flow charts make my heart skip a beat.

I believe all projects should start with research, goal setting, and prioritization.

I am constantly curious – I ask a lot of questions because I care and love researching. I also really love the Oxford comma.

Educator

professor

I gain the most joy in life when I am teaching and inspiring others. From January 2018 to December 2020, I taught Digital Branding at Miami University. I’ve taught the digital marketing course, social media marketing, and the capstone class, which acts as a digital marketing agency for a real client.

I also spent three years helping lead and speak at the Richmond Social Media group from June 2017 to March 2020!

Mother + Triathlete

cooper and tri

I saved the best for last. My favorite job title of all is: MOM. My adorable son Cooper is my whole world. After battling depression and mom guilt, I realized it’s OK to both love your family AND love your job. I can be a mom AND have a thriving career. I am thankful that my job allows me to take Cooper with me to work. In fact, he attended his first meeting with a CEO of a technology company when he was 3-months old!

Outside of work, I enjoy training for triathlons and spending time with my fur children as well! I hit my 100 lb weight loss goal by racing in triathlons, and I hope to race until I’m 100-years-old!
